Team is the combination of many individuals who are grouped together in order to fulfill the specific task or goal. For the success of any organization, the team plays a very important role and in order to team to get success, it is important that all the team members have a close relationship and the feeling of mutual assistance and a team-oriented work environment.
In order to develop the team-oriented work environment in the organization, the following initiatives have to be taken by both the managers and the organization=
Commitment and Trust= It is important for the team to be successful and to develop a team-oriented work environment in the fir to have the commitment of the team members towards the mission and goals of the team. It is important to motivate each team member to devote a certain level of effort and time so that the mission and goals of the team can be promoted. There must be a feeling of mutual trust and collaboration among the team members. The unbalance workloads can result in the distrust and internal politics so the tasks and duties related to the team-oriented activities must be distributed fairly
Open communication= Communication is very important in order to make sure that the team works as a single unit. Everyone must be given ample opportunities to express his or her opinion and thinking. An open line of communication will create a feeling of respecting each other’s opinions and having a disagreement with others that can be resolved through effective communication.
Diversity of talent= For having the mutual assistance and collaboration, it is important that the team must consist the people with varied backgrounds and talent so that they can complement each other, help each other in case of any problem. This will create a strong bond among the team members.
Creativity and freedom= facilitating the opportunity to innovate and creativity will really boost the team-oriented work environment. The innovation will provide the new concepts and thinking to the team and this will help the team members to overcome the difficulties. It is important that team members provide the other team member enough freedom to express their ideas and views. The team members must trust each other in their respective areas of expertise so that new concepts and methods can be developed.
