The company business activities determined by the organizational structure.however in the same form Walmart also has the organizational structure which makes the business in the easy way to handle.it also have the limits on business problems.the different team has the different roles and responsibility according to their level.Walmart culture determines the response for the challenges in the workplace by the people. The employees of the company partly depends on the culture of the organization.

The Walmart functions in hierarchical organization structure.there two features for this structure:one is Hierarchy and another is function based definition. The hierarchy functions has the control in the vertical lines of command and authority of entire organization.CEO of the company don't have any superior rest all have their superior.

The directive and mandates imposed by the higher authority management to middle level managers to rank and file the performance of the employees to run the smooth business.

The Walmart function based feature contains the need of the employees and involves the group of employees where in full-fill the functions of the organization structure. There are different departments functioning to handle different level work. However Walmart has department for the human resources,to take care about the technology they have the IT department, for the sales and marketing have their dedicated the team in marketing department. The above are some the function based the department in the Walmart.

The hierarchical functional structure influence the managers to apply the new policies and strategies. These polices and strategies are proposed by the headquarters to regional managers then it passes to store manager to implement those policies in Walmart stores. However the hierarchical has the direct control and monitor the functions. The down side structure of the organization has difficulties to get approvals as the process communication is very lengthy as it need the approvals from the store mangers then corporate manager then will reach to headquarters.
