Explain the concept of Virtual Network Structure and provide examples.
Virtual organisation can be defined as an organisational
structure in which the contact between the employees is not
physically present and they can operate from anywhere in the world
by using digital Technologies.
Running a virtual organisation can be very challenging. Team
members of the virtual team inside the virtual organisations
usually never meet. Alternating chances of these specific employees
are very low as they are set apart by huge distances. Language
barriers across the globe are also a major issues between
employees. Virtual organisations also faces differences in cultures
as it is directly based on multiple countries or multiple regions.
Maintaining a virtual organisation could be very tough as it is
only based Virtually which directly requires a technological e
advanced system. If any technological terms fails in the delivery
of the services, the overall level of the virtual business would
also come down as it won't be accessible without the help of that
specific Technology.
Confusion of the timezone as well as differences in the working
Times is also one of the major issues in the virtual organisations.
Maintaining the overall level of ethics and collaboration as well
as implementation of the employee engagement is also very tough as
there is no physical place or location in which the employees
usually meet. Maintenance of the data and acquiring the overall
data system is also very tough as there is no physical contract of
the employees to the employer or to the other Employees.
Mozilla is a fine example of virtual organisation. Mozilla is the
maker of firefox which is a non profit organisation and have lot of
remote workers across the globe. People are working at different
countries and have more economies involved in the organisation
structure of Mozilla. Company has a work from home policy for its
employees and open the jobs for any remote location.
All in all we can say that this type of organisations are very
good but turning a physical organisations which deals in regular
business should not be appropriate. By creating an organisation
regarding different non mainstream jobs is a good opportunity for
turning the organisation boundary less.
cial for the organisation as well as the employees.
Providing additional support to the Employees by implementation of
different care plans as well as in house insurance has been very
intuitive approach by Starbucks for creating a positive impact on
the employee relations as well as empowering its employees.
