  • The following outline is provided as an overview of and guide to the human brain and its functions:
  • Human brain – central organ of the nervous system located in the head of a human being, protected by the skull. It has the same general structure as the brains of other mammals, but with a more developed cerebral cortex than any other, leading to the evolutionary success of widespread dominance of the human species across the planet.
  • The human brain is split up into three major layers: the hindbrain, the midbrain, and the forebrain.
  • Hindbrain-The hindbrain is the well-protected central core of the brain. It includes the cerebellum, reticular formation, and brain stem, which are responsible for some of the most basic autonomic functions of life, such as breathing and movement.
  • Midbrain-The midbrain makes up part of the brain stem. It is located between the hindbrain and forebrain. All sensory and motor information that travels between the forebrain and the spinal cord passes through the midbrain, making it a relay station for the central nervous system.
  • Forebrain-The forebrain is the most anterior division of the developing vertebrate brain, containing the most complex networks in the central nervous system.
  • Lower-Level Structures-The brain’s lower-level structures consist of the brain stem, the spinal cord, and the cerebellum. The brain’s lower-level structures consist of the brain stem and spinal cord, along with the cerebellum. With the exception of the spinal cord, these structures are largely located within the hindbrain, diencephalon (or interbrain), and midbrain.
  • Cerebral Hemispheres and Lobes of the Brain-The brain is divided into two hemispheres and four lobes, each of which specializes in a different function.
  • The left hemisphere is dominant with regard to language and logical processing, while the right hemisphere handles spatial perception.
  • The brain is separated into the frontal, temporal, occipital, and parietal lobes.
  • The frontal lobe is associated with executive functions and motor performance.
  • The temporal lobe is associated with the retention of short- and and long-term memories. It processes sensory input, including auditory information, language comprehension, and naming.
  • The occipital lobe is the visual-processing center of the brain.
  • The parietal lobe is associated with sensory skills.
  • Broca's and Wernicke's Areas are primarily associated with the production and comprehension of speech sounds, respectively. Broca's area is located in the Frontal Lobe, while Wernicke's area is found at the junction between the temporal and parietal lobe.
  • All of the five traditional senses, namely, sight (vision), hearing (auditory), smell (olfactory), taste (gustation) and touch (somatosensory), are perceived, processed and controlled by one of the major parts of brain, i.e. cerebrum. It particularly involves the primary sensory areas. The perception of the world around you is developed by the sensory information that is synthesized by these regions of the cerebral cortex.
  • Medulla oblongata is the organ associated with the regulation of you heartbeat rate and is comprised of the lower part of brainstem or hindbrain.
  • The maintenance and regulation of blood pressure is one of the involuntary human brain functions performed by the medullar region of your brain that connects the higher parts of Central Nervous System with the spinal cord. The hippocampus is located in the temporal lobe of telencephalon and is considered as one of the major components of human brain that plays an important role in the process of learning and memory processing.

I need this in Java please: Behaviors. In the context of OOP, functions are called methods or behaviors because they typically do something. Most often, they read or change the values of one or more variables in the class. For example, you may have a weight variable in a class, and a method called gainWeight( ) that increases the weight variable by a certain amount. For this part of the lab, create class KoalaBear that has a weight attribute (in...
