What is the role of MoxR proteins? What pathway(s) are MoxR Proteins involved in?
The MoxR proteins are from a family of AAA+ ATPases which are widespread in bacteria and archea.
They play an important role in cell envelope stress in rhizobium leguminosarum in the oxidative stress , heart stress and even acid stress responses in Francisella tularensis in the acid stress in the stringent responses in Escherichia coli in the viral tail formation in the crenarchaeal acidianus two tailed virus. And also in the utilization in the carbon monoxide as the sole carbon source of gram negative of chemolitho autotrophe oligotropha carboxidovorans.
MoxR proteins from E.coli show the unique spatial arrangement of aBa and a subdomian of the AAA+ domain in this proteins compared to the typical arrangement found in the canonical AAA+ proteins such as HsIU
They have chaperone like function (which take care of others). They are involved in the process of maturation and activation of specific protein complex and also helps insertion of cofactors in proteins .
They also are modulators of multiple stress response pathways in different types of organisms.
And MoxR proteins are involved in multiple stress tolerance pathways.
