What various proteins and organelles are involved in the process of importing/recycling cell surface proteins? Group these proteins - coat proteins, cargo proteins, adaptor proteins, sorting nexins (SNX), vacuolar protein sorting (VPS), caspases.

Solutions

Expert Solution

cell surface proteins are present at the layer of cell membranes.these proteins are integral proteins and they are interact with cell environment. extracellular material, ligands, and plasma membrane proteins are made part of the cells, they are internalized by endocytosis. the endosomal recycling pathway is working to remove the membrane from the cell surface. the endocytosed proteins and lipids are recycled back to cell membrane. Transferrin is an protein important for the endocytosis. clathrin - independent endocytosis is a major process. Arf6 activator loner and Arf6 are proteins incorporating in endocytic recycling.CIP4 proteins contain F- BAR domains that helps to remodel the lipid Bilayers. majorly D.lysosomes are the organelles that helps for these processes.

coat proteins = transport proteins

&

cargo proteins = they are facilitating the formation of transport Vesicles.

adaptor proteins = influence signal transduction pathways.

SNX and VPS = sorting role in endocytic pathway,  involved in intracellular sorting and delivery of soluble vacuole molecules

Caspases = programmed cell death and inflammation

we cannot group these proteins in specific categories due to their variety of functions
