In present time we hear the news of mass media/social media and its role in political campaigns for reputed posts and elections. Mass media is a technology which has wide reach to audiences. News paper, magazines, radio, televisions and internet are some of the mediums of mass communication.
This media can influence the mind of people. Now a days, we also hear a term "Fake News". It is related with propaganda which is being disbursed in society against someone with some specific intention. Common people find difficulties in identifying the differences between real news and fake news.
They may take fake news as the real one and make their opinions accordingly. Mass media has been considered as a significant force in any country as it directly impact the thought process of people. Mass media helps in speedy dispersal of any message.
Once the news has been propagated in mass media then it becomes very hard to control its spread. Mass media have certain disadvantages. It causes stress sometimes because a person can get unusual news items with a much greater pace.
Accumulation of unnecessary information can cause stress. People start arguing about a particular point without checking its validity. Such news items can spread anarchy in society. There are various incidents in which violence got erupted due to spread of fake news.
It overall affect the psychological and physical wellness of society. It affects the public opinion which can not be considered as suitable for healthy democracy. Government need to regulate such media platforms. People should also be educated about dealing with fake news items.
Some anti social elements may take advantage and spread feeling of hatred in society. It ultimately disturbs each and every person's life.
