In: Economics
this is my essay
Economic efficiency is the distribution or distribution of all
goods and production factors in the economy to the most valuable
uses, and the elimination or minimization of waste.
Social justice is justice for the distribution of wealth,
opportunity and privileges in society.
The freedom of the individual is the freedom for the individual to
exercise his rights generally recognized as outside the control of
the government.
John Maynard Keynes said, "Economics is TRADEOFS! It's the choice
of society and the individual." For example, to achieve the social
goal of justice, we have to abandon or sacrifice individual
freedom. Because the whole or the basis of which economic research
is based is based on the allocation of scarce resources, the more
resources you give, the less other resources you have.
We live in a society, so we have to think about all the people in
the society. Some are well-off and some are badly off, but every
citizen has the opportunity to prove this. That's why everyone has
to have equal opportunities. So we talk about social justice. In
other words, it provides equal opportunities for everyone. However,
this social justice can only be achieved if one is prepared to
sacrifice individual freedom. If everyone talks about their
freedom, the rich and the upper classes will not think about the
poor in society. If these people work by themselves, social justice
will grow further and far away. Therefore, in order to achieve
social justice, people must give up part of their freedom, and that
is the only way to achieve social justice.
and I questioned by the instructor
That's why everyone has to have equal opportunities. So we talk about social justice. In other words, it provides equal opportunities for everyone." What about dumb people or lazy people?
what should i add?
Answer: In a society, each individual should be given equal opportunities for the growth of the individual and economy. But how this opportunities are grabbed by the people depends on the intentions and abilities of the individual. Dumb people or lazy people must try to convert their opportunities into success. Government must encourage lazy people to grow. Providing everyone with equal access to resources is a form of social justice. But the way these resources are utilised, depends on the individual. Lazy or dumb people cannot help to grow an economy efficiently. Therefore, there will be rise in inequality in an economy. This is inevitable as each individual has different capabilities. Some capable and efficient people will grow in an economy depending on their abilities. Wealthy people must help poorer section of the society so that they can have enough opportunities to grow. Rich people need to help destitute people to enhance social justice. Each individual should be given freedom to earn and generate more and more resources. But government must control the concentration of resources in the hands of few people by levying taxes. The revenue generated from levying this taxes must be distributed among the poor so that they can have equal opportunities.
