Task 1: Pick one aspect of the mayhem that Ukraine experienced. Describe it from a Ukranian citizen's perspective.

Annexation of cremea by russia
Initially Creamea used to be the part of Ukraine but russia annexed it
Ukraine was under russia control but after cremean war and russian revolution creamea became the part of ussr.
Stalin came into power in ussr and USSR suffered great famine in 19232- 33he also deported the cremean tartars from Creamea after world war 2.
Ukraine was given independence in 1991 with Cremea being an autonomous region In 2010 Victor yanukovych is elected as president of ukraine and had close ties with USSR. He signed a multi dollar bailout with russia.EUROMAIDAN protests happed by Ukrainians against this deal in 2013.
Yanukovych left the country on february 21 and after his leaving, russian backed protesters occupied cremian parliament and elected a new president who was in favour of russia. He asked russia for help to maintain peace in Creamea. Around 75% population of creamea was eticially russian. They speak russian language as well. So new prime minister asked for a referendum to join russia. Refrendum took place on march 16 2014 with 83% turn out and 96.7% population saying joining the russian empire. And on march 18 cremea joined russia.
