A. - BELOW ARE MENTIONED THE CAUSES OF THE POLITICAL POLARIZATION IN AMERICA-
1. Group politics- The left and the right are emphasising differently, the left on identity politics and right on racism, bigotry.
2. religious disturbances- romans, catholics, conservatives have varying opinions / views regarding many social problems/ issues like abortion.
3. the urban versus rural mindsets with the individual perceptions regarding developement and their own reasons for dissatisfaction resulting into unique ideologies that will support different parties.
4. Migration- Shift of citizens from one place to another for education, jobs, business etc aligns them into the polarization phenomenon.
5. change in generation- This gives birth to a changing value system and change in liestyles which are indirectly connected to polarization.
6.Political donors- The donations to political parties are from the rich and the way money is channelized for serving prsonal intersets is questionable and is debatable.
B.- YES, there is of course a threat to the U.S. republic because of the above mentioned causes of political polarization in America as it is increasing the gap between the people belonging to various races, religions, socail stautus etc., disturbances over rural and urban developement have been in the news for the long time. If donations to political entities are not checked and monitored there will be misuse of democracy for personal intersets and it will turn into a big threat.
