More than 95% of nurses’ work and responsibilities involved in providing direct nursing care on patients. One of the challenges faced by nurses and student nurses is understanding patients’ emotion. There are many reasons why nurses and student nurses need to have good understanding of patients’ emotion during illness in delivering their nursing care. Topic of assignment:

Communication and understanding of emotions of patient are important factor in nursing care. Good communication and proper identification of patients emotion are necessary to provide proper care to the patient.

Emotion of patients are may be different from person to person so it is more difficult to identify the emotion of a patient.

Factors that limit or influence the emotional influence include the social skills, communication skills, self evaluation and observation skills of a nurse or nursing student.

So the factors limit emotional intelligence are lack of observation of nurse. If the nurse don't had the observation skills they cannot identify the patient's emotion .

Improper or lack of communication skill also limit the emotional intelligence. Adequate communication is necessary to maintain a good relationship between patient and nurse then only the patient open their mind and problems.

Social norms or cultural factors . As there are difference between culture and social status of patients their emotions are also differ.
