Answer - Role and responsibilities of nurse are as follows -

- Assess and monitor the new mother after delivery to ensure proper recovery and healing

- Clean and monitor the newborn baby.
- Check vital signs.
- Assess the caesarian incisions if applicable.
- Remove catheters after delivery.
- Administer analgesic, antibiotics medication as prescribed by the physicians.
- Provide education to new parents regarding how to care for newborn baby.
- Help the new mother with the emotional aspects of the birth recovery.
-Work with lactation consultants to help the new mother breastfeed.

- Educate the mother about Postpartum follow up visiting at least 3 times.

Different treatments options for superficial vein thrombosis and acute pulmonary emboli is anticoagulants therapy (heparin, warfarin). It prevents further complications.Use of thrmbolytics which dissolve the clot quickly.

- Nursing responsibility first assess and monitor therapeutics ranges Heparin for aptt test ( active partial thrmboplastin test) warfarin for (prothrombin test).

- Monitor for pulmonary emboli or any respiratory distress.

- apply warm compress and elastic compression.

- Monitor vital sign regularly.

- Provide oxygen therapy.

- Provide psychological support to clients.

- Monitor the patient regularly and any complications consult with physician.
