Should nurses at the bedside (those involved in direct patient care) be involved in the unit budget process? Explain your answer and provide rationales with examples from clinical practice (such as staffing, patient outcomes, equipment, etc.).
Usually bedside nurses will take
care of the patients completely, unless a nurse is a Nurse Manager
she will not be involved in budgetting perfectly.
Unit budget process will be planned and implemented by the nurse
managers as part of nursing administration & management.
eg; Nurse manager will plan in budget regarding staffing pattern
and their salary expenses, supplies or inventory to the
ward/hospital which are necessary to provide patient care and the
utilities for better patient outcome, maintaining nursing unit with
all inventory stocks ,maintaining the emergency
medications,disposables etc .
as nurse manager provide all the facilities to the nurses to
provide better care to the patient, bedside nurses provides better
care in right time and right way with out any disturbances .
nurse manager will supervise 2-3 wards and all the facilities
including staffing in order to have smooth running of the patient
care delivery.where bedside nurse stick on to the patients in
providing care needed at hospital residency.
