After knowing the most current research, please discuss the profile of an adolescent experiencing suicidal ideation or thoughts. What are the major factors (biological and environmental)?  Your discussion and reply must be clear and it should include your own research about the topic, for example, the textbook and your readings have provide some statistics that you should include. Some points of consideration:

Suicidal ideation and thoughts are becoming more prevalent amongst the adolescent population and the youth. There are various factors attached to the said outcome, and it is related to the contemporary social, cultural and political landscape that has exerted pressure on the younger demographic.

Although it's not exactly understood why individuals during this stage do go through this process, it is found to be prevalent nonetheless. It is also found that certain ethnic and racial groups go through this process more than other races or ethnic groups, which could be correlated with the political landscape. It is also observed that gender differences are not that great when it comes to suicidal ideation and thoughts, which lends itself to the fact that it is focused on the age group specifically and could be attributed to biological changes in the body as well.

It is also suggested that the environmental factors such as more pressure and higher competition, as it is true for this generation, are also responsible for such thoughts and ideas to nest in.
