If you have participated in a Value Chain or other financial assessment of a company's logistics network, please describe the outcomes of that evaluation. If you have not, please describe a process that you are familiar with and discuss what functions are being performed that do not seem to add economic value.

Value Chain is the process which include various activities like production,distribution,designing of product and marketing of the product. The benefit of the value chain is to minimise the cost,increase the profitability of the firm and develop a chain which takes the firm on the path of profit maximization.The Value chain includes all those activities which are required for starting to providing the finished goods to the customers.

Yes,I have participated in a Value Chain or other financial assessment of a company's logistics network,the outcome of that elevation is that Value chain provides a competetive advantage over the rivals.For fcing a competetion in the market it is necessary to have those products and services which are very beneficial for the organizatio and must result in profit making for the organization.

The company must focus on the five factors :

  • Inbound Logistics
  • Operations
  • Outbond Logistics
  • Sales and Marketing
  • Service

All these services are required to gain profit for the organization.
