In marketing, for consumer behavior, which adopter category do most people belong to? Does this differ with different product categories? Is age a factor in innovation behavior?
In consumer behaviour, while we select the adopter category, we can see that the category that most people belong to can be considered as early majority type of adopters. Most people don't fall into the category of the innovators or the early category and they do not conform to becoming the late adopters as well. This is generally the case in most products but certain categories of the product allow the change in adopter category from early adopter to even innovators in the case of video games or technology such as mobile phones. While age can be considered as a factor as older people tend to wait for adopting a certain product before it is tested in the market due to their age of experience and different wants and needs associated with the product. other demographics also play as much a role in this as age does and therefore age isn't an exclusive factor in this process.
