After the World War 2, many changes has happened in the United
States, be it the "Baby Boom" or the confident attitude of the
people about a safe and prosperous future.
- After the war, people were made confident by the people
friendly economic initiatives by the government where government
expenditure on infrastructure, education, etc. surged building
confidence.
- Since the people were hopeful of a bright future, about 4
million babies were born on an average in each year rising to the
name "Baby Boom". These babies who became adults in the 1960s were
flagbearers of a social change.
- Popular media platforms have emerged as a major change
inflicting media which symbolises the change. The Hollywood
presented itself as a medium for that.
- The Civil Rights Movement started in the 1950s as people were
forced to think of their civil rights.
- The women in the country were made to be homeamkers to nurture
and caretake the babies born out of the boom. That caused a problem
as many of the working women were working and being out of
livelihood made psychological impacts that led to many civil rights
movement in the late 1950s.
- Discrimination against African American communities were
prevalent for centuries, but came into mainstream politics at that
time that caused a ridge and also caused the rights movement which
later emerged victorious.
- The idea of suppressing Communism was spread as a result of the
Cold War between United States and Russia and more diplomatic
policies were adopted by the government and inflicted on the
society.
- Surbanization was adopted and mass production of automobiles
was also done as a part of chasing "Amercian Dream."
