Communication is the process or means through which two or multiple people share their views, any specific information or any kind of update among each other. Communication is the factor which separates the human beings from animals on the basis of a superior and more expressive means of communication. Communication can be done in many ways. When we speak to somebody it is communicating to the somebody. Similarly communication can also be done through writing our thoughts on a piece of paper or a letter or a note. When we use a telephone and speak to somebody , who is not physically present in front of us , this is also communication. Communication , from age old, has been the source of human civilization and the benchmark of its development. Traditionally. Communication was done through all the ways mentioned above.

However, Communication is not revolutionized and is perhaps the fastest developing social activity. Communication has now been taken over by e-communication. E-communication stands for ‘Electronic-Communication’ , where communication is done through electronic means. We now have various modes of e-communication such as Email, mobile normal message, mobile instant messaging app, video calling service, social networking sites etc. Emails help us to communicate sensitive personal and official information to anywhere around the globe in a matter of seconds. Email systems have not been made more and more secure gradually, and people in the various organizations treat Email system of communication as the most trusted and official means of communication. This is because it leaves a trace and proof of the exact content of the communication. Normal mobile messages have now been used for quiet many years, and with the passage of time , normal messaging system is gradually becoming redundant and is being taken over by the instant mobile messaging applications. The rise of such instant messaging applications is perhaps the fastest communication system in the contemporary organizations. Instant messaging applications help us to directly communicate in a live environment for as long as possible. This has enabled the global organizations to operate their functions from those center of their offices as well, from where it is the cheapest to them. It does not matter as to the support executive is sitting next to the office bay or may be sitting thousands of miles away in a different city or even a different country. Through the help of e-communicable applications , support is now possible from anywhere in the world. Similarly, social networking sites also help the contemporary organizations to keep track of the mood of the nation. By keeping a track of the social networking sites, an organization can plan according as to which services or on which products it should invest to get maximum profit out of the investment. E-communication has revolutionized the modern organizational structure and their functioning.
