Focusing specifically on gender differences, discuss how cultural norms and expectations play a role in the assessment of disruptive and antisocial behaviors in children and adolescents?

Cultural norms play a role in this aspect in following ways:

(1)Children and adolescents whose upbringing happens in cultures where there is a predominant cultural norm and sense of gender inequality and differential & inhuman treatments among people based on gender, in that case this molds children's and adolescents behaviour and thinking patterns.

(2)For example, from very beginning of their childhood, males will begin to understand that they are superior than females.

(3)They will learn socially these aspects and later in their adolescent years they will involve in practices of exploitation and abusement of other gender (especially female), in form of home violence, abuse and disrespect.

(4)These will clearly lay a foundation for disruptive and antisocial behaviors in children and adolescents.
