Your journal article critique must focus on one of the theories of personality covered in this course (I encourage you to browse ahead in the course to overview all the various theories of personality that we will cover).

Utilize the UMUC library (www.umuc.edu) to locate a peer-reviewed, empirical journal article; you must select an article from a scholarly journal. Articles must meet the following criteria:

Primary research – Articles should report the results of an original research study (no meta-analyses, summaries, editorials or theoretical articles).

Refereed – Articles must come from peer-reviewed journals; you may not use articles from blogs, popular press books, magazines, textbooks or non-academic publications.

Personality focus – Articles must examine one of the theories or measures of personality covered in our course.

The theories of personality include cognitive ability and the big five theory of personality. The relationship between openness and emotional stability was studied and correlated with its negative association with conscientiousness was analyzed in detail. There is a positive correlation between educational attainment and emotional stability and a negative correlation between labor force attainment and emotional stability in the personality models studied in this research statistical study. The volunteer included a group of college students where the analysis of psychological intelligence testing was done with understanding of the relationship with emotional stability and conscientiousness relationship. The factors studied included education, age, labor, market experiance, and emotional intelligence. Cognitive mental ability tests are conducted by the International Mathematical and science study programs which focus on the general inteliigence factor ranging between 0.92-1.00. It is correlated with the labor force development factors and the way the persons with low intelligence compensate in the living economic conditions as compared to the intelligent persons living in the society. The graphical analysis with mean, standard deviation, variance and co-variance was analyzed for the big five theory of personality which incudes the following factors like:

The statistical study included two groups with people involved in full time employment with scaling of 1 and part-time employment with a scaling of 0. The lickert scaling index was calculated with preference and liking for a particular specific item with analysis of the emotional state and well being. Cronbach alpha values on BFI-S scale was analyzed. It was concluded that persons with a higher intelligence has more emotional stability as compared to the persons with lower intelligence and emotional stability. The regression analysis was performed in the scaling studies with analysis of the quadratic associations among the values obtained for the big five theory factors under analysis. Conscientiousness is negatively correlated to the cognitive ability in persons employed in full time employment as compared to persons in part-time employment.
