Business process is a network of activities which involves sources, roles, resources and flows and it work together to achieve a business function or to produce a specific business outcome. Business process includes a series of task or inputs that are intended to give a desired business output after completing the process.
Roles are collections of activities or events that take places to complete a business process. There could be different types of role like different job positions; for example data base administrator or programmer etc. as they help to complete an activity in the business process.
Resources are used in business process to complete the tasks. They are mainly of two types; one is human resources like manager, programmer etc. and other is system based resources like computer applications which are allocated to roles.
Flow is the movement of data and command between tasks in the business process. Flows are of two types; one is control flow which directs the order of activities and another is flow of data which directs the movement of data between activities and repositories and it uses a Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) symbols to document the movement of data in the business process.
