ANS is the autonomous nervous system. It contains both CNS and
PNS. It controls both glands and smooth muscle of the internal
organs. ANS consists of centres within the brainstem and the spinal
cord. Peripheral part is made up of autonomic fibres.
Function of anatomy of ANS;
- Function of ANS is visceral reflex. The efferent fibres lead
signals encoding the corresponding response. Two main divisions of
ANS is sympathetic and parasym[pathetic nervous system.
- Muscarinic receptors
- Nicotinic receptors
- They control involuntary body function like-
Cardiovasular
Respiratory
Digestive
Urinary
Reproductive
Response to stress
DISORDERS OF ANS-
- Orthostatic hypotension
- Dizziness
- Less sweat and excess sweat
- Digestive problems such as diarrhea,
bloating, anorexia, constipation
- Urinary disorder such as
incontinence, difficulty in urination
- Sexual disorders such as difficulty
in ejaculation, erection problem.
- vision problem such as blurry

Treartment is given according to the
condition of the patient like if the patient is having postural
hypotension then we can do certain things such as-
- Elevate the head end of the bed of
the patient
- Maintain the body fluid electrolyte
balance
- Position change frequently
- Wearing compression stockings to
prevent pooling of blood in the legs
- Timely medicartion
- Provide psychological support to the
patient that every thing will be fine. No need to take stress.
