What is the difference between targeting and mass marketing and the pro and cons of each marketing.
Also, you was a marketer, would I focus on mass or target marketing and why.

Target marketing reach for small group of people, smaller segment of the society such as rich, old, children, baby, women etc. Specific group of people are there main target . Whereas mass marketing is done for large number of people without considering any specific group. Advertisment is done through tv, newspaper, radio etc
ADVANTAGES OF MASS MARKETING
1. Possibility of getting new customer as it reach large number of people.
2. Good for branding and making name in market.
3. Less chances of fraud.
4. Memorable.
DISADVANTAGES OF MASS MARKETING
1. It is expensive.
2. Advertisement will hit many people who really don't care abt product or they don't need it.
3. Nearly impossible to get which advertisment is most effective.
4. Sometimes people are tired of seeing brand name and product everywhere and it might result in lose of interest in company.
ADVANTAGES OF TARGET MARKETING
1.Cost effective - As we know advertisment is very expensive and it results in adding cost to the product.
2. Specified audience is targeted with certain interest , demographic, history etc.
3. Also helps you to know your customers properly.
4. Helps to increase your business.
DISADVANTAGES OF TARGET MARKETING
1. Time consumption is more as it requires alot of time to find targeted consumers through research.
2. Neglection of many consumers - for example a new cereal brand advertise it's product while children watch cartoon on TV through attractive ads. Some adults may also like the cereals will not be able to buy cereals as they are unaware of it.
3 . Expense in research and survey is very high while finding possible cutomers or consumers.
Target marketing is suitable for small business which have less investment . They can use it's resources effectively and efficiently finding possible consumers for their product. Whereas mass marketing is best option if business is big with large investment so that it can reach large volume of people who can buy it's product. As large companies like coca cola, Pepsudent, kfc use mass marketing through television, newspaper etc to reach more and more people.
