Compare and contrast (using examples) evoked culture and transmitted culture.
While transmitted culture is a normal phenomenon in which people pass their cultural beliefs, values, customs and practices to the next generation and this could be from few to many generations apart. We could see most of the practices that we do today is the result of such passing down and they became the norm of the society at one point in history. Evoked culture occurs when people respond universally to an environmental stimulus which may or may not become a norm of the society. This would also differ between people from various cultures. This would mean that people would adopt differently to the same environmental stimulus throughout the world. For example, the increasing LGBTQ rights is an increasing issue to which different people would respond differently. While the individualistic cultures might adopt them and treat them as part of their individual rights, collective cultures may or may not accept them.
