The culture and economies of northern and southern China during the
age of devision is mentioned below:
- Southern China were wealthier than Northern China so Northern
Chinese were seen as working class and poor on the other hand
Souther Chinese were seen as better educated, intellectuals and
more business oriented.
- Norther China is too cold and dry that it can cultivate any
grains and consists mostly flat plains and deserts while Southern
China is warm and rainy enough to cultivate grains like rice. It
has river valley as well needed for irrigation, because of these
geographical advantages Soutrhern Chinese were more developed and
prosperous compare to their southern counterpart.
- Because of this Southern China has more service sector
employment and Northern China mostly had more hard labourers.
- Economically because of above reasons Southern China was more
developed compared to Northern China.
- While Northern Chinese are proud of themselves for being in
mainland china and preserved the Chinese civilization, according to
Southern Chinese philosophy they are mutated because of frequent
war from the neighbouring country.
