Option C - concern about the high cost to the organization of making the changes
The organization needs to reinvent itself from time to time to
remain competitive. It may need to adopt new technologies, new
management policies and new strategies. However, it may face
challenges for such a transition because of the employees.
Employees are one of the important stakeholders of the company and
it can not be ignored because of management and legal issues.
Employees often feel insecure about any major changes in the
organization as they feel that it might lead to layoffs in the
company. They tend to get into the comfort zone and do not feel
enthusiastic about learning new technologies.
The change in organizational structure or environment because of
such transformation also concerns them and they think that such
changes are not necessary. That is typical because the strategic
decision making is done at the top level that requires some
expertise.
However, the employees are least concerned about the cost involved in undertaking such major changes. They logically can infer that if they can retain the job then there won't be any wages issue right now or in the future. The important thing is retaining the job with redundant skills and changing time.
