The number of men and women going abroad for work has been increasing at a faster rate in last decades. The socio-economic development of potential migrant labour in countries of origin and countries of destination are tremendous. * Public has negative perceptions of migrant workers.
*Discrimination, exploitation and violence against migrant workers hasn't stopped even after being condemned.
*Biases are held against a migrant worker's nationality, gender, ethnicity age and education
Singapore is not doing enough to stop the mistreatment of workers. Effective intervention is necessary.
Government should try to stimulate attitude changes on specific issues to tackle discrimination and barriers that prevent the fair treatment of migrant workers and their social inclusion.
*Design, support and deliver policies that facilitate platforms and community events where migrants and the public can mean fully interact.
*Encourage inclusion in the working place by working with employers and trade unions to promote the rights of migrant workers.
*Avoide using dehumanizing terms to refer to migrant workers in legal texts and other official documents.
* conduct awareness activities with the general public.
