4. What is the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)? Explain the relation between time management and WBS.
answer-
Work breakdown structure is a very important part of project management in which Works under project are decomposed or breakdown into smaller components. This is done so that team can manage all the work and complete the project on time at low cost without any delay.WBS is represented as deliverable-oriented hierarchical diagram where required deliverables are shown and executed by team members.
Work breakdown structure is completey related to Time management because Time management is all about planning, schedulling and completing tasks on right time. The concept of Time management is used in WBS because Project team create WBS so that they can review activities in a project then evaluate to determine the duration (how long it will take to accomplish from beginning to end) and what resources (time, materials, facilities, and equipment) are needed.
In simple terms, WBS is built on concept of time management because if Time is not alloted and managed then tasks and activities will not be completed on time and project gets delayed.
for example- A Marketing campaign is our project so Project manager allot time and resources like 1 days to script writing, 3 days for video and song for TV commercial advertising, 1 day for tagline or slogan for campaign etc.
This shows how Time is alloted so that Project can be done in or before deadline.
