Solutions

Expert Solution

1. If we compare Conventional agriculture and the Industrial agricilture, the industrial agriculture has many benefits such as the production is high, of good quality, and the prices are less as compared to the conventional agriculture. But it also has serious complications and the most important among them is the environmental drawbacks i.e. modern farming techniques are causing harm to the environment.

If we compare the benefits and the harms from the industrial agriculture then in the short run though it may seem to be reasonable but in the long run it can't be considered good because it is in the long run ( say after 100-120 years ) that the negative effects of industrial agriculture will be seen. At that time the soil will be degraded so much that by using any amount of manures and fertilizers nothing will grow in the fields. The water and air will be polluted so much due to the use of pesticides and insecliving s. The hybrid variety of grains and vegetables will also be dangerous to the nature and for humans. So lastly we can say that the benefits of the industrial agriculture can't outway the environmental drawbacks.

2.The population of the world is increasing at a high rate and to maintain this population with a high standard of living the consumption of the people can't be decreased but we may look for some alternative sources and we can decrease the wastage of goods.

But if there is really need to decrease the consumption we can give up the things that I can't say are of no use but are less important and without which we can survive without actually changing our life style. We can consume less of less important goods such as using individual car and use public transport instead. And we can give up the consumption of unhealthy things such as alcohol and cigarette.
