One such example related to dynamic compelxity is on sales demand estimation. Our company was facing challenge in estimating the sales demand and providing the realistic numbers to the production unit for processin the finished goods. This was majorly due to the effect of Bull whip which results in unexpected spike or decline in estimating demand from one level to another. This dynamic complexity is due to seasonality of products, competitor strategy in pricing and promotion, disposable income and buying behaviour changes in customers. This issue was addressed through systematic forecasting done with the help of advanced machine learning tools. A separate forecasting team was formed where the major responsibilities was to co ordinate between sales agent, supply chait manager, production team ,vendors etc. More realistic inputs were collected and estimated based on the trends considering external and internal environment factors.
