Identify the similarities and differences between the mission of 2 different law enforcement agencies. Identify which agency you feel plays a greater role in maintaining security and ensuring public safety.
the only obligation of Law enforcement agencies is to protect law and order in their level. there are different levels of law enforcement agencies in India, namely Central law enforceme agencies like National Security Guards and state level agencies like state police departments. Where the centrall force works under the control and direction of central government, it is used to protect national security from major issues like Terrorism and terrorist attacks. This force can be used by central government in special situations where the state level polices were failed or other functions which can not be performed by state level police departments. they also trained to protect attacks like hijacks, exploitation attacks, terrorist and maoist related issues.
when it comes to state level law enforcement agencies, every state have their own police departments headed by DGP (Director General Police). This department works under the control of stete governments in India, works to protect and control of Law and order in the state. All kinds of issues at state level like civil, criminal, commercial and social issues will be take care of by these people.
the difference between these two are:
at their level both the agencies are doing good, if we need to compare and assess it is difficult to do. In the national level issues NSG wing works extraordinarily, but the taks are very rare in nature. but the state level agencies works 24/7/365 time horizon and carries many psychological pressures. As of my knowledge the state level forces works more conciously than national level agencies in India.
