  • 3-D bioprinting is a relatively newer technique for growing tissues and organs in-vitro and is still not widely prevalent. Usually, cell culture techniques such as culturing of cells on scaffolds and matrix is employed to grow tissues in the lab.
  • Decellularizing an organ is one of the methods for making a scaffold. Other methods include electrospinning, freeze-drying, thermally induced phase separation, stereolithography etc.
  • Cells all have the same basic components regardless of tissue type. The basic structure of a cell which consists of cytoplasm enclosed in a plasma membrane with the nuclear material segregated in the nucleus along with essential cell organelles such as mitochondria, lysosomes etc., are present in all kinds of cells, regardless of the tissue type.
