Abnormal child: Those children who are so different from the average children intellectually or emotionally or socially or educationally or in any aspect that they require special programs in addition to the normal school programmes.

Types of abnormal children: 

  • Physically - a) Handicapped

                           b) Blind  or low sight.                                                                                  c) Deaf or hard of hearing or stammer

                           e) Epileptic

  • Intellectually: Gifted, creative, retarded 

   • Socially: Criminal or thief, emotionally weak, socially delinquent child 

 • Causes of abnormality: Physiological reasons, Daily behavior, Inheritance, Economic reasons

   • Characteristics of abnormal childern: 

   A) Physical defects 

   B) Intellectual abnormality 

   C) Speech defects 

    D) Visually impaired childern
