Winnow is a 9 month old child who is brought to the urgent care center with a red, rough textured, peeling rash covering portions of her torso, groin, and right arm. The rash is tender and warm upon palpitation. Skylar is mildly dehydrated, but drinking plenty of fluids. She does not have a fever. Culture of fluid from the blisters is negative. Bloodwork reveals normal WBC but elevated Erythrocyte sedimentation rate.

The organism that causes this disease is a fungus known as candida . The Candida fungus is one of these potentially harmful organisms. When an overgrowth of Candida develops on the skin, an infection can occur.
we cant expect bacterial presence in the blood since it is caused by the bacteria. the site of the rash may spread if it untreated.
