The principles of theory of behavioral- or communication-style
bias are as follows:
- Individual differences
in behaviour exist : People differ in terms of physical
characteristics and will have different behavior patterns. Everyone
are unique. Examples: the voice patterns, facial expressions, eye
movements are different from others
- The communication
style of an individual is the way of thinking and behaving :
People have their own preferred way of doing something. They do
have their own style. Examples are hand movements, gestures
etc
- Difference in
individual style tend to be stable : The basic style of
communication is based on hereditary and environmental factors by
birth. Those styles will be stable. Moreover there are some styles
which are developed too. Example : People will have behavioral
patterns similar to that of their parents.
- The number of styles
are finite : Styles can be finite. Because most people show
one of several clusters of similar behavioral patterns. Such
categories will be small in number. Example : Behavioral patterns
of people living in similar locality will be somewhat similar.
- Create most productive
relationships with the people work with, in order to get in sync
with their communication style : In order to avoid frictions
in the relationship with others, people must recognize and respond
to the styles of others. Example : Cultural difference will be
there in workplaces in other states or countries.
