Erich Fromm, in "the art of loving" states his opinion about the form of love in current times. He states that the kind of love we want today has become highly materialistic. This materialism is ingrained in the kind of package one is getting that best suits them from what is available in the market. He states that people get attracted to one another on the basis of what is best suiting their needs, keeping in mind their own faults and weaknesses.
man today has forgotten to look beyond the outer experience or glamour. They focus on what appeals to their eyes, but the idea of team building, something that lasts for a longer time has been lost. The idea of short term pleasures has long over ridden long term commitment.

i agree with the ideas presented by Fromm. The world today has become so very shallow, that people who actually look for meaningful relationships or something that is sustainable, are the ones who end up getting hurt the most. They place themselves in the most vulnerable situations and their emotions might be exploited by the other person for their advancements.
