Imagine that you are assigned in a road way project and you found out that the soil is a non-cohesive week soil, design a work plan in order to stabilize this soil, taking into account the cost, materials, labor and the strength to be obtained
STABILIZATION METHOS
1. stabilisation with cementatious material
In this methode the soil stabilization is done by using stabilizing agent without removing the bulk soil. This type of techniques used for deep and shallow foundations. this method is done by injecting the cementatious material like cement and lime in dry or wet forms in to the soil. the dry or wet conditions depens upon the water content of the soil. The stegth of this stabilisation is 25-30 kg/cm2 .
2. stabilisation with bitumin
For this stabilisation techniqe asphalt, tar etc. used to stabilise the soil. it is used for the pavement construction. this technique provide more cohesion and reduced water absorption.
3. chemical stabilisation
In this techique calcium chloride is used as the chemical.it act as the soil flocclent and it provide compaction to the soil.
4. electrical stabilisation of clayey soil
This technique is done by electro-osmosis method. this is an expensive method
5. soil stabilisation by grouting
In this method the stabiliing agents are injecting to the ground.this is a costly method.
6. soil stabilisation by geotextiles and fabrics
the fabrics are made uponpolythelene, polyesterand nylons.this geotextiles have high strength.it is used for costruction of soft road.it provide better strength
