Unless your organization follows the ideal melting pot analogy it is clear that you, as a diverse entity can impact the relationship dynamic of a group. This is because every individual has a different sense of thinking and even though business laws are in place that prevents the differentiation of individual on the basis of race, religion, age etc, some still practice it and if the group has such members, the rest of the are not going to be able to do this.
When the dynamics in the group is disturbed, this causes state of panic for some. The decisions impact us at the same level where, decisions are based on the relationship, skills, style and talent of the team and therefore, a change in group impacts the change in decision making power.
For example a group that is made that only has one type of skills can benefit from the introduction of diversity in the group which can provide them with as little edge.
