With the increase in globalisation the world has become a global market and the businesses are not confined in one geographical area or one single country but are selling their products and services worldwide. This, along with various other challenges has increased the challenges of companies in providing service to customers belonging to various different cultures and communities.
Cultural diversity greatly influences the ability to provide service to customers since different cultures have different ways and RULES. Certain things which may be appropriate to do in one country will not be appreciated in some other country and hence prior knowledge and study of the different cultures before providing the service in those areas is a must.
Also studying the culture helps in providing better service as we get to the the preferences and likes of the customers belonging to different areas. For eg compaines like McDonald's when opening their chain in India studied the cultural background and came up with many vegetarian options owing to large number of vegetarians and also ensures no beef since it might hurt the sentiments of different religious groups. Hence, culture impacts the overall customer service within modern business.
