Employers today use a variety of tools to screen potential job applicants. One tool that is being used by some is the use of personality tests. Employers also seek out information available on the Web in areas such as social media sites. Some employees have even been let go as a result of something they posted on social media. Take some time and do some research online (such as through a Google search) and see what more you can learn about how employers are using these types of resources and personality tests then provide your thoughts on whether or not you support the use of these personality tests and information available via the web (such as through social media) being used in the recruitment process.
Provide supporting reasons as to why you believe or don't believe these should be used in the workplace.
All the employers wants their employees to exhibit very good conduct at all times as they would represent the company. They use one or multiple sources to get to know their employees either before recruiting or after recruiting. During the time of recruitment process, they would use personality tests to check whether the prospective employees would fit for the job and the organization. Once they join, the company uses social networking sites to check them and some even use private detective agencies to collect enough information. Sometimes, they even hack the electronic devices to monitor every movement of the employees. Knowing about the employees without their knowledge would help the employers to understand their employees real character, personality and intentions.
In my point of view, it’s not right to follow the employees everywhere thus intervening in their private life unless the employees involve in acts that would affect the name and fame of the company. Employees have a personal life which they need to live in full without anyone interfering. Although there is an agreement that the personal life and professional life affect each other, no one has the right to interfere in the private life of one where one could have one’s own likes and dislikes which they can’t have while they work for the company.
