Solutions

Expert Solution

Before being judgemental on whether Callahan makes a convincing case against euthanasia or not , we have to ensure that on what parameters we are judging home.

I mean to say if we are judging ethics or morality then we finds that Callahan makes a convincing case against euthanasia when he says it is ethically wrong that a doctor is supporting his patient in taking his own life while the doctor is bounded ethically for saving the life of his patients , that's why he said it totally violates the doctor patients relationship.

But when we see it with the patient's view it seems unconvincing because if someone who is suffering from incurable diseases which has resulted him an unbearable pain and there is no hope of being cured than it is his right to take his life or die with peace. In another case if patients is not in condition to take a decision then it is important that someone else takes the decision in his behalf and in such situation a doctor would be perfect choice because no one can better understand the condition of his patients other than the doctor , therefore he should get the autonomy on his patient's life in such situations.
