CES specializes in the design, allowance, construction and management of waste water treatment process. It helps to reuse the water, solids and the byproducts in the waste water. This process is beneficial for reducing energy and capital costs and good in expanding different sources for water usage. The chemical waste water treatment forces the Destruction and separation of the contaminants present in the waste water through addition of some specific substance in the water. There are many methods of removing the contaminants in water like ion exchange, flocculation and CESs method and we are going to discuss the CESs (Cascade Earth Sciences Synergy) steps :

  • The most initial step to be done is screening of water and big particles are removed to supply water for next step.
  • Grit particles are being removed that are fine in nature but also heavy.
  • Materials are being settled in circular tanks and then the sludge procedure is being done. This step is also known as primary settling of the contaminants.
  • The next step is known as secondary settling of contaminants and chemicals are being introduced to destroy them in large circular tanks. Around 90% of water is being treated till this step.
  • The water is being filtrated at last and then after all treatment disinfectant is used to ensure that the water is hygenic and bacteria free and suitable for using for all purposes.

So these were the steps included. By this process the contaminants are being destroyed by the use of chemicals and there are some of the concerned that are emerging in this process, that are -

  • Energy consumption is very high at the time of settling of particles.
  • The chemicals used may be harmful if disinfectant is not used properly in last step.
  • Operational cost also has to be managed and the process needs to be made mire economical for use.
