Solution:

Emergency response team (ERT) related to chemical plant and their responsibilities are stated below,

1. Incident Controller : The Incident Controller leads the ERT, he will assess the severity of the incident. On being advised of an incident, he shall proceed immediately to Security, assess the situation and manage the emergency response. In the event of a level 2 or 3 incident, he will immediately call the necessary emergency services, the Crisis Management Team Leader (General Manager) and will take whatever action is appropriate with the resources available to him. The function of the incident controller is to control evacuation and response (if any). The controller will be assisted by the Crisis Management Team in the event of a serious or major incident occurring on-site. The Incident controller will ensure EHS Manager is contacted for any hospitalisation or incident with environmental impact so that regulatory agencies are contacted if required.

2. Deputy Incident Controller : The person working as deputy incident controller has to function to follow orders by incident controller. Deputy controller also work on the causes and reasons of incident with damages taken.

3. First Aiders : This is the most important part of the team which involves the person with knowledge of first aid to the patient. It includes all types of first aid safety measures related to affected person.

4. Fire Checkers : In the emergency team this having important role because most of the accidents would occur due to fire. So in order to avoid damage from fire the person selected as fire checkers have all the possible rights to check weather there is any fire leak or any fire producing material available in plant.

5. Pump Checkers : It includes the correct Identification of pumps and their maintenance. If one of the pump will not working properly regular maintenance is required in order to avoid any type of accident or any severe incident.

6. Spill Responders : Person working as spill responders works on the deep observations related to spilling of any flammable and poisonous chemicals in chemical plant. If any leakage or spills observed sudden actions must be taken without stopping the process.
