Social Distance Monitoring
Coming to the point of social distance monitoring using drones plays a crucial role. During pandemic situation surveillance of people whether following the imposed restrictions without involving the in-person monitoring, use of drones to monitor and people's movements, and intimate them regarding the social gathering and involve in the social breakup. On the other hand use of drones raise the issue of privacy and rights of individuals.
When coming to the point of broadcasting the urgent and important news to the people regarding the lockdown measures and health information especially to the people in rural areas, where lacking communication, drones usage making it very accessible and easy. Over the area which is prone to be potentially affected usage of drones for spraying disinfectants which can cover more area over less time. These drones are inexpensive, very to operate, and can quickly mobilize from one area to another.
For delivering the groceries, medicines, and requirements during the time of social distancing the utilization of drones really makes the problem easy. Drones can also be used for medical surveillance of individuals like a temperature check, thermal scanning.
Drones make things with minimal human interaction. Different design consideration has to be taken into account while designing a drone-based on its function and specific use. Based on ‘usage‘ like Drones for Photography, Drones for aerial Mapping, Drones for Surveillance, etc.
Multi-Rotor Drones, one of the most common types of drones used for aerial photography and surveillance. These are the easiest and cheaply available drones.
Fixed Wing Drones are entirely different in design and build to multi-rotor type drones. By name they having fixed wing by which they won't stand still in flight. They move forward in the set course until the energy of the flight got exhausted. These drones required high manufacturing costs and skilled ones to handle them.
Single Rotor Helicopter, they are very similar in design and structure of the actual helicopter. Single rotor drones are much efficient than multi-rotor versions. Even though a single rotor helicopter comes with higher complexities and operational risks.
Fixed Wing Hybrid VTOL, these are hybrid versions combining the benefits of Fixed wing models (higher flying time) with that of rotor based models (hover). This concept has been tested from around 1960’s without much success. However, with the advent of new generation sensors (gyros and accelerometers), this concept has got some new life and direction.
