Answer- Zikav virus infection is caused by a flavivirus, transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes. During pregnancy, it can cause Congenital Zika syndrome i.e. infants born with microcephaly or some other congenital disorders. It can also cause complications of pregnancy, like, pre-term birth and miscarriage. Other symptoms include fever, rash, conjunctivitis, muscle and joint pain, malaise that last for 3–7 days.

The outbreaks of Zika virus infection have in been recorded in Africa, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific. As there is no vaccine or treatment available, efforts are focused on preventing it's transmission through the vectors. Thus, it a rapidly growing infectious disease.

Advantages of gram-stain in microbiology are:-

1)it is used to differentiate between gram positive organisms and gram negative organisms on the basis of chemical and physical properties of the cell wall.

2) helps to determine an effective treatment plan.
