Recent efforts by the government of Ghana to improve the railway sector can be described as old wine in a new bottle. Discuss
Ghana's transportation industry was not that much developed which indicates that most of the transportation been taken place in terms of road and mostly two-wheeler. so the transportation facility can describe the growth of other sectors. Airways are always expensive and skill-oriented so the government's decision on developing railways is one of the best timely decisions to support economic growth in terms of railways. it will reduce the transportation cost with a more effective and less time-consuming process. By renovating railways there is an increment in employment with economic development.
Ghana has not only taken the development projet for railways but also trying to set up one district one factory. so the railway's development not only supports public transportation also supports the manufacturing industry in terms of transporting raw material and finished well. modification railway stations infrastructure required and increasing the facility at the station make these stations more attractive and worth it.
Ghana government has taken a multidimensional decision regarding railways development, which is following the strategy of new bottle old wine. central government not only involve in this process also the state government involved in this so all will be the stakeholders of this development. so this strategy seems more fruitful for future sectoral development and transort and turism industry.
