Professor Chabani Manganyi
He was born in Louis Trichardt district. He completed BA in Psychology in 1964, and MA in 1968 and Phil in 1970. Then he joined as a professor at university of Transkei. Later he was appointed as senior research fellow at the University of witwatersrand African studies institute.
In 1990, he was vice chancellor and principal of university of the North. In 1994 to 1999, he became Director General in the Department of Education In 2003- 2006, he was vice principal of the University of Pretoria.
He published his first monographs Being-black-in-the-world in 1973. Professor Manganyi's Mashangu's Reverie, published in 1977, he observes the Black Consciousness Movement as the antithesis of the dominant and racist culture,
