How can executives correct the view that ethical responsibility hinders profit? Can making aware to the employees what is expected enough to build higher standards of ethical behavior?
Top management is working for effective operations and implementation of strategy for successful completion of organization vision. Ethical decisions making sometimes minimize the profits and restricted to take the several decisions which are generating huge margin but practices are unethical.If I will work as cheif executive officer then my priority will be leading the organization and generating maximum profits for organization. Ethical practices has several compliance and regulations and that forcing the organization to not a profitable decisions in business operations. Several merger and acquisition are not performing due to the ethical practices.
These are the following ways to build higher standards? of ethical behavior-
1) There should be a written code of conduct- There should be a written code of conduct of ethical practices in organization and making employees aware to follow these codes.
2) Ethics and compliance of training programs- There should be strong ethical and compliance of training programs. Ethical practices should be in organization and there should be clear rules for those who avoiding ethical practices.
3) Role models - There should be a role models who is honest and very ethical personality in his life. There should be a character who influences the employees and culture.
