Create a chart ( any way you would like)that summaries all the medias include in the chart if the media is selective, differential, enrichment-any special characteristics, what is it used for identification, what are the possible results ( and any color changes or any other ingredients needed to analyze) and what are the interpretations if those results.
Answer-
| Name of media | Type of media | used for identification | Possible results | Interpretation |
| 1.Blood agar media | Enrichment media |
Supports for the growth of factidious organisms e.g Stre ptococcus. |
Red color is observed | Beta hemolysis occurs. |
| 2.MacConkey agar | Differential media |
Used for identification of Enterobacteriacaeae (i.e.lactose fermenting and non-lactose fermenting) |
Pink colonies OR colourless colonies |
If pink colonies observed then lactose fermenters are present. If colourless colonies are observed then non lactose fermenters are present. |
| 3.Mannitol salt agar | Selective and indicator media | Identification of S.aureus. |
Yellow colony OR Colorless colony |
If yellow colonies are observed then S.aureus i.e.mannitol fermenter is present. |
| 4.Nutrient agar |
 General purpose media |
supports the growth of all non- fastidious organisms | Variable test results occur. | |
