Tyrosine is specified by two codons: UAU and UAC. Which of them is likely to be found more frequently in thermophilic bacteria (those that live e.g. in volcanic hot springs)? Explain briefly.
Thermophilic bacteriaa are those which can survive and grow at hot temperature ,50 to 75 Degree CelciusThese bacterias produce heighly heat resistant sprore and used in food processing industry.
Eg-Bacillus flavothermus,Thermus aquaticus.
Most of the bacterias proteins coaggulate at high temeperature but the thermophilic bacterias has the ability to maintain enzyme stability at such extreme condition which isonly possible by the presence of thermostable enzymes and protoplasmic fats.Hence it is well confirmed that thermophilic bacterias have different amino axid composition compared with mesophilic bacterias.
Two codons UAU and UAC codes for the amino acid Tyrosine. In thermophilic bacterias the content of GC (Guanine and cytosine)differ from other species which is said to be the major identity. This heigher ratio of GC whic is linked with triple bond asist proteins to maintain heigh melting point so that at ezymes are prevented from coaggulation.
UAU corresponding sequence is AUA and UAC is AUG.The later one os found abundantly in thermophilic bacterias as it contain G in it.
